About Scott
I've been working with personal computers since before they were called that. The first computer I built was a homebrew Intel 8008 machine back in the 70's and I've worked in a dozen languages on as many different architectures since then. And I still love doing it!
Despite having a degree in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University, I've spent virtually my entire professional career as a programmer. In 1982, my brother and I started Professional Practice Systems, Inc. to create software to help Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, and Opticians run their practices. Our software is called OPTO® and you can find us online at http://www.opto-pps.com.
I've worked extensively with Borland Pascal and Delphi and was one of the original members of Borland's TeamB on Compuserve for over a decade. More recently my interests have moved to C# and Microsoft's .NET framework. As the owner of a small business I also find myself heavily involved in the IT side of things, keeping our own infrastructure working. As such, this blog is likely to cover a fairly wide range of technical topics.
I live in the Seattle area with my wife and son.
